Members of the SHS Class of 1968 celebrated their 50-year Class Reunion with a weekend of activities beginning July 27, 2018.
A Friday night mixer was held at John Kufleitner's Galleria of Vintage, Classic & Pristine Cars and hosted by partner and classmate Ron Bezeredi. Party hours were 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m with 140 in attendance. Music was provided by Wes Anderson and friend.
Saturday morning activities started with a golf scramble headed up by classmate Shelley Cody Rhodes at Westville Golf Course. At 10:00 a.m. a Salem High School tour was arranged by classmate Darlene Heineman, assistant to principal Sean Kirkland, with 40 plus in attendance. From 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. classmate Rick Berg hosted a tour of the Salem High School Alumni Association office, again with 40 plus in attendance.
Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., the group met at the Salem Golf Club with 105 classmates and 45 guests in attendance. Social hour, class picture, buffet, donation raffle and a class meeting were held. Each classmate received a CD created by classmate Gary Bielski. A memorial book was compiled by Tom Patton. The evening was complete with 3 hours of a live band performance by The Main Street Lions.
Sunday from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., the group gathered for the Salem Summer Concerts at Waterworth Park with a performance by The Sensations. Class of '68 veterans raised the United States flag while classmates sang the National Anthem.
